I Have Been Crowned The King of Soup…By My Wife

My wife loves all things potato. And when I say she loves potatoes, I mean she “LOVES” potatoes. I’m pretty if someone told her she could only eat french fries the rest of her life, she’d be delighted.
That’s why she was over the moon excited when I told her I was doing a new campaign with Idahoan® Premium Steakhouse® Potato Soups. I’m pretty sure all she heard was “potato soup”.
When I saw excited my wife got about the soup, I had an awesome idea – why not treat the wife to an old fashion steakhouse dinner. You know, like the kind we use to be able to enjoy before to kids came in our lives and made everything so darn difficult.

So, first things first. I got home a little early decided to get the meat portion of the dinner all grilled up. Ok, so it’s hamburgers and not steaks, but come on, we have 2 kids. We’re living on a budget people! Plus, it gave me a little time to enjoy an adult beverage in peace and quiet.
But once the wife got home, Papa’s Steakhouse was open for business. If there’s one thing my wife loves even more than potatoes, it’s options. So lucky for her,  Idahoan® Premium Steakhouse® Potato Soup comes in 4 varieties (Creamy Potato, Loaded Potato, Cheddar Broccoli and Three Cheese Chipotle), and she had them all right at her finger tips.
I was rather partial to trying the Three Cheese Chipotle, because, come on…cheese! But the wife was struck by the Loaded Potato, and seeing how she was the guest of honor in this little activity, I guess the customer is always right. I wish I could say I sent her off to take a nice hot, relaxing bath, only to have dinner waiting for her upon her return, but…2 kids, remember?
The wife took care of the kids, while I took care of dinner. Making  Idahoan® Premium Steakhouse® Potato Soup is souper (sorry for the pun) easy. I mean, seriously, check all the ingredients and utensils I needed for this dish:
This was it. That’s why  Idahoan® Premium Steakhouse® Potato Soups are the best. They know parents are on a tight schedule, and don’t have all night to be stuck in the kitchen making meals. Start to finish, making the soup took me 6 minutes. And the best part about this meal; these soups fit right in with my fitness goals for 2017. One cup of soup is only 220 calories, yet is souper (sorry!!) filling; which means, no late night snacking.
When the wife finally came down from handling the kids, she was greeted by this sexy chef:
Ok, maybe sexy is overdoing it a little. But hey, I try at least. Now was the time for the moment of truth. The wife tried the soup.
Right after I snapped a picture of her taking a bite. You can tell how happy she was about this moment.
She loved the soup!
Even the staff was allowed to sit down and enjoy some soup.
With the wife doing most of the cooking in our house, and me not being that advanced in the meal prep department, it’s hard to claim I’m the king of anything that goes on in our kitchen, but thanks to  Idahoan® Premium Steakhouse® Potato Soup I was able to be #KingOfSoup in our house…because my wife told me so.
I have partnered with Life of Dad and Idahoan® Foods for this campaign, but my opinions are my own. Don’t forget to check out Idahoan® Foods at Idahoan.com and check them out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
