Last-Minute Gift Ideas Are No Longer a Problem with Sears In-Vehicle Pick Up – #AllForMom

Mother’s Day is a special time of year. It’s the day we celebrate all the moms in our lives, and while we should recognize how awesome moms are on daily basis, this day deserves it more than most.
My wife and I, like many couples, don’t buy each other gifts. Not on Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and not on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. This isn’t because we don’t care; far from it. Instead, we try and save up for larger purchases we can all enjoy as a family, like house upgrades or a vacation.
But this year I wanted to break from the norm and get my wife something special; even at the risk of her getting upset for spending money on stuff we didn’t need. You see, my wife is almost 8 months pregnant with our second child, and I wanted to do something; something she could use all the time, but I was stuck on what.

I didn’t want to go the jewelry route, mainly because my wife doesn’t need anymore jewelry, and I ain’t got the funds for something like that. Plus, as I said, I wanted the gift to not only be nice, but something she could use all the time.
Being a parent, and working a full-time job, time tends to slip away from you, and that’s exactly what happened this year. With a hectic life schedule, that most days feels like the Wife and I are two ships passing in the night, coupled with not usually having to think about buying a gift, it totally slipped my mind that Mother’s Day was this weekend. I know, rookie mistake.
It’s far too late to start asking her leading questions to get ideas, and it would never ship in time. If only there was some service where I could get something at a moment’s notice, select it, and then pick it up in-store the same day. Fear not my friends, now there is – the new Sears In-Vehicle Pickup Service via the Sears mobile app.
This great new service from Sears was simple to use. It works like this:

  • Browse items in your nearest store (via Sears mobile app).
  • Select items and mark them for in-store pickup.
  • Select the In-Vehicle service.
  • Receive your confirmation text (within minutes of purchase).
  • Park in designated parking spot for In-Vehicle service, and within 5 minutes. (guaranteed) your order will be in your hand.

Not only is the In-Vehicle service fantastic, but Sears has a great promotion running right now called #AllForMom; gift ideas that any mom would love. You can find all the great items at
How does all this apply to my dilemma you might be wondering? Well, it just so happens that my (very) pregnant wife was complaining over the weekend that we don’t have enough comfortable pillows to accommodate her desire to literally sleep on a bed of pillows.
So, that’s exactly what I did. I scrolled through the Sears app and found some nice firm pillows I knew my wife would love; selected them for In-Vehicle pick up, and literally within 2 minutes of my arrival, they were in my hands. I didn’t have to worry about taking Ferris out of the car and lugging a curious kid who wants to touch every power tool in sight around the store. Nope, I just pulled up, parked, received my items, and was on my way.

I know what you’re think, Pillows?!? Come on Mike, what kind of Mother’s Day gift is that?!? Well let me tell you what, my wife loved them. I gave them to her early, and she flipped…not literally (obviously), because she’s pregnant. There is no gift greater for a pregnant woman, than the gift of comfort.
Big thanks to Sears for helping a dad in his time of need, and a Happy Mother’s Day (a little early) to all the moms out there.
Disclosure: I have partnered with Life of Dad and Sears for this promotion.  I have received compensation for my participation, but my opinions are my own.

Mike, Nice job on the gift. I don’t think that people realize that something that someone will use and enjoy is as good, if not better, than some piece of jewelry that gets worn occasionally. But then again, I’m a guy who got my wife a crock pot as the main gift.

breaking the trend of not buying gifts! Now you’re entering into dangerous territory! Make sure you always shop at Sears for all holidays now!

When my wife was near the end of her pregnancies…I was the one needing pillows. Because she had stolen every single one of them! We’re a bit removed from that stage, so I got my wife a new coffee maker. Now, we’re beyond wanting comfortable sleep and just needing desperately to stay awake….apparently. 😀

Something tells me that you have changed the course of your life forever…both in the way you shop and the fact that your wife will love your gifts WAY too much. I guess there’s pros and cons in everything with life…
