More Coffee, Less Talkie: The Story of my Mornings

I try my hardest to not fit into any kind of stereotype when steering through life. But, when it comes to kids, parenting, and coffee needed first thing in the morning, you might as well make me the poster child for this stereotype, because I’m all about it.
Prior to having kids I never drank coffee, except maybe a handful of times. I still wasn’t much of a morning person, but I didn’t need the extra assistance; I could just wake up gradually throughout the day. And weekends – forget about it. I wasn’t up before the crack of noon anyway. In fact, I actually found coffee quite gross. I know, I know, it hurts me to admit that as well.
But now that there are two (more) crazy people I have to deal with first thing in the morning; I NEED coffee in my life.
Why do I NEED coffee you might be wondering. Well, for the simple fact that, my kids have no chill. From the second my five-year-old son opens his eyes in the morning – somewhere between OH GOOD LORD GO BACK TO SLEEP and the butt-crack-of-dawn o’clock, he’s at a level 10. Seriously, if he could do back flips, he probably would.
And let’s not forget about the ten-month-old that resides here too. You know, my sweet, beautiful, well-behaved ten-month-old daughter who has been on the fast track to becoming my favorite person ever since she arrived last July. Recently she has discovered the word “Dada”, and she says it all the time. Cute, right? Yeah, not so much.
She has also discovered four o’clock in the morning dance parties to be her new favorite thing too, which she screams DADA at the top of her lungs the whole time while getting her groove on. But let’s be honest, she screams at me all the other hours of the day too…so, at least she’s consistent.
THIS…is why I need coffee in my life. Not just to wake up quicker, but because when I have my first sips of coffee in the morning I feel as though I can hear angels singing. Like the heavens literally open up, harps start playing, and the warm mana of the gods comes floating down to me, drowning out the sounds of the screeching demons….er, I mean kids, down here on Earth with me.
So, when Folgers reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try some of their Folgers® Coffeehouse Blend, I thought it was some kind of sick joke. Like, do I really have to answer this question? I have kids…OF COURSE I want to try your coffee. After we established I wasn’t being punked, they also asked me, “When you’re enjoying your coffee, what saying do you think #ShouldBeOnACoffeeMug?” I instantly blurted out, “More coffee, less talkie.”
And BLAMO….got my mug!!!

Folgers Coffeehouse Blend is really good! The distinct taste starts out smooth, and finishes bold. That’s awesome for people like me who enjoy adding copious amount creamer, but still want to enjoy the the coffee flavor of coffee too. Another great feature of Folgers Coffeehouse Blend from Folgers is that it’s perfect a for all kids of brewing methods. So now I have all kinds of choices how to enjoy my favorite kid-silencing elixir; whether it’s regular brew, French press, iced, cold brew, or pour over, Folgers has got me covered.
Now, if Folgers could find a way to make the silence last all day, they just might have a loyal customer for life.
